Winter has arrived!
I love bringing winter into the classroom for my students! Winter offers a unique opportunity to engage students in your special education classroom with fun and educational activities. Here are some winter-themed ready to go centers & activities to make the most out of the winter season in your classroom:
1. Winter-Themed Sensory Bins
Create sensory bins filled with winter-themed items like fake snow, cotton balls, pinecones, and small plastic animals. These bins can help students develop fine motor skills and sensory awareness. Add academic skills to these fun, engaging sensory bins to work on IEP goals! My students love finding hidden pictures, colors, shapes, numbers, or letters in the bins. You can also turn this into a turn taking game with two students
2. Snowman Dice Game
Work on turn taking with this fun Snowman Dice Game freebie. Attach snowman pictures to a large dice. Take turns rolling the dice, each player gets to build their own snowman. You can also put snowman pieces in a mystery box and kids can take turns pulling the pieces out of the mystery box.

3. Winter Alphabet Centers & Games
Make learning the alphabet fun with these winter-themed alphabet games.
•Letter Hunt Game: Place letter cards in a mystery box or around the room. Have students use the letter find game mat to mark with a marker or place a bingo chip on the correct letter they find.
4. Winter Math Centers & Games
Practice identifying and counting numbers 1-10 with these math center activities.
