Welcome

I am in the midst of completing my 18th year teacher Early Childhood Special Education.  I have always taught in a self-contained special education classroom, however that has looked very different in the 4 different school districts that I have taught in.  I have always known that I wanted to work with children with disabilities. It has been my passion since I was a little girl watching my mom work as a home-care nurse for children.  Besides being a special education teacher for 18 years, I have been a camp counselor for a special recreation camp, a respite worker, a nanny for  children with Autism, and an Early Intervention Therapist.  Teaching is one of the most challenging jobs around and I have certainly experienced ups and downs throughout my many years that I have been teaching. My goal is to help other teachers and parents with strategies and interventions that can be used in the classroom or home environment to help their children and students.  I hope my experience in the classroom and in the home can be educational, encouraging, and empowering!  Happy Reading!
