Seasonal Sensory Bins Activities & Centers For Preschool Special Education Class

Sensory bin time! If you have read some of my other posts you know how much I love incorporating mini sensory bins into my classroom.  I love to use sensory bins in my classroom with my pre-k special education students, because they love them and are motivated to explore these activities. I spent some time creating seasonal sensory bins that reinforce seasonal vocabulary words, seasonal themed colors, shapes, numbers, & letters. I like using these activities during my individual or small group centers. I change them out frequently so the kids get excited about something new, but also the task itself is familiar to them. I can easily adapt the activities to the learning needs of my students. For some students, I am having them just explore the sensory materials and objects or pictures. I may show them the object or picture and tell them what it is, but mainly they are just playing. For other students we can play a matching game either with picture to object or picture to picture. For my students who are ready for social interaction with others, I may make a turn taking game out of it. Taking turns finding the hidden items in the sensory bin, naming it, and then matching it to the matching mat.  You can make your own or check out my seasonal sensory bin resources below!
